The Firewalla Gold Rack Mount Kit is a rack mount shelf made specifically for organizing your Firewalla Gold and your networking gear on your rack mount. The shelf can anchor at least one Firewalla Gold and its power supply, while the remaining space can be used to hold other devices, such as a modem or a small switch. Featuring a full metal design for shielding/grounding support, it has a built-in 16 port patch panel, and comes with 2 USB-A keystones.
The shelf was designed to be flexible enough to support all kinds of network configurations with clean wiring being a top priority.

Installation
Step 1: Save Your QR Code and Serial Number
Once you take out your rack mount tray, you'll see a sticker on the tray reminding you to take a photo of the QR code and serial number at the bottom of your Firewalla Gold box and save it somewhere secure for future reference. If you need to pair the box with a new app, or reset it without pairing, the app will ask you for the QR code.
Peel the sticker off before mounting the Firewalla box onto the tray.
Step 2: Secure Your Firewalla to the Tray
Take your Firewalla Gold and line it up with the opening of the tray's front side, on top of the raised metal section. Depending on your network setup, you have the flexibility to position either the Ethernet ports or the USB ports facing the front.
Flip the tray over and align the screw holes on the bottom of the box with the tray. The tray is compatible with the screw hole placements in all Firewalla Gold models. Just align the screw holes on your box with the corresponding holes on the tray.
Use the provided screws to secure the box to the tray. The Firewalla Gold Original, Gold Plus, and Gold SE all use the same type of screws, while the Firewalla Gold Rev B uses a different type.

Step 3: Secure Your Power Adapter to the Tray
Next, take your Gold power adapter and line it up at the top left of the tray. There is a notch in the metal specifically designed for the power adapter. Secure it onto the tray using the zip ties and loop the power cable through the circular notch on the bottom right-side opening of the tray. Connect the cable into your box's power port.
Step 4: Install the USB Keystones and Connect them to Your Firewalla
Press down on the top of a blank keystone to pop it out. Replace it with the USB keystone that comes in the accessories box. Two USB keystones work perfectly with Firewalla's red security dongle and the Wi-Fi SD dongle. You can place the USB keystones wherever needed for easy access.
Take the USB cables provided in the accessories box and use them to connect your Firewalla box to the USB keystones.
Plug in the red security dongle to one of the USB keystones. If you have a Wi-Fi SD, you can plug it into the other USB keystone.
Here is an example of what it looks like when the USB cables, red security dongle, and Wi-Fi SD are connected.
Step 5: Design and Set Up Your Network
Depending on your needs, you can replace the rest of the blank keystones with RJ45 keystones or other standard keystones like HDMI or USB Type-C. You can connect these keystones to other devices using cables.
If you have not already done so, power on the Firewalla box and let it boot up. Make sure your connection is working as expected before securing the tray to your rack.
Step 6: Mount the Tray to Your Rack
Using the black rack mount screws provided in the accessories box, mount the tray to your rack.
There are four oval shaped holes on the left and right metal arms of the tray. Line these holes up with your rack.
After the holes are lined up, screw the cage screw through the aligned holes and into the cage nut:
Repeat this step for the remaining holes and make sure it is securely attached to the rack.
Common Issues and FAQs:
Installing the USB Keystones
Tip: Align the bottom to the port opening, then use two hands together to clip the top into the port.
Removing the USB Keystone
Tip: Push down firmly on the top of the keystone using one hand. Then use the other hand to push down at the end of the keystone and pop it out of the port.
What do I do if the keystone fits tight and won't budge when I press down on it?
Keystones may vary slightly in size and flexibility depending on the model and manufacturer. Wedge a flathead screwdriver into the notch at the top of the keystone to create a small space for it to loosen from the port opening.
What can I do if I forget to save a picture of my QR code and Serial Number before installing my rack mount?
If you have already paired with the Firewalla box, the QR code can also be found in the app. Go to Box Settings -> About -> License and take a screenshot of the QR code. Store it somewhere secure in case you lose your phone and don't have physical access to the box.
If you're not paired or have physical access to the box, please email help@firewalla.com for QR code and serial number recovery (this may involve an additional cost).

Just received mine today. Works awesome and looks great.
I put two 8-port switches inside, which fully populates the 14 Ethernet keystones (and connects each together). I also used 90° usb cords at the FWG so they lay in nicely.
How are you securing the Netgear switch onto the rack?
Zip ties.
